"Are there any deserts in Korea?"
Therefore, I have done some research online, and found out the answer.
"No!"
But there are some regions that resemble a desert. Among them, I've decided to introduce the coastal sand dune in Tae An, Korea.
The sand dune is the only "real" sand dune existing in Korea. The region is very well preserved, and is home to many rare species such as the Golden Frog, and the Mu Ja Chi. Therefore, the Korean government designated the region as a wildlife sanctuary, and a natural treasure(#431) for its scientific value. The sand dune is now a very famous tourism spot in Korea.

This sand dune is 3.4km long, and 0.5~1.3km wide. The sand dune is formed by waves and winds. The waves carry western coastal line's sands to the shoreline, and the wind, 17m/s, carries the sands to the land to form the sand dune. Therefore, when there are lots of winds, the sand dunes continue to form and vanish, moving around the area.
Watching the photos, I found out that the landscapes don't look like Korea at all. The sand dune is very beautiful. I wish I could visit there someday. Bibliography:
