Dokdo, Korea
Dokdo are islands located below the Korean Peninsula. Historically, geographically, and according to the international law, Dokdo belong to Korean territory. But, the Japanese government is claiming that they belong to Japanese territory for some reasons. All Koreans, of course, are very angry about the claim. That's why I am interested in Dokdo's geography. Dokdo are 87.4 kilometers southeast of Ulleungdo in the East Sea(not Sea of Japan!).

Dokdo are formed by volcanic activities. There are two main islands-West and East Dokdo-and 89 small islands. Dokdo are the easternmost islands of Korea, located at north latitude 37˚14´26.8˝, and east longitude 131˚52´10.4˝. The islands cover an area of 187.453㎡.

Dokdo have many kinds of plants. There are over 50 species, such as goosefoot, dandelion, and wormwood. Dokdo are also the home to many rear bird species. There are also some migratory birds. Plus, Dokdo have an abundant fishery.

Every time I think about Dokdo, I feel a bit depressed. To me, Dokdo seem like a symbol of the difficulties a small and weak country might encounter. As other Koreans, I wish my country can secure Dokdo. But also, I don't want to see any emotional response to the issue.
